Devil in the Form of a Whore draws on the foundations of European figuration, always alive inside of me the inner home of Leipzig, now being subjected again to the vast wilderness in Australia. The paintings are a synthesis, a battle between figuration and abstraction dissolving into a marriage of harmony on the picture plane, as well as a complete destruction of all painterly influences, with the emergence of a voice of truth. A voice, that explores labels of the feminine as treacherous, dangerous, something to be tamed and shamed, to be cast aside. An eye, that sees us collectively shutting down our own archetypes of life and sex. Slutwalk, Hashtag Hoelife, Hook up Culture, Bitches, Dating with a Cold Heart. A heart that uses painting as life, soulmate and lover to counteract the wounds in all of us. A body, that moves as painting in a sacred act to resurrect the connection to self and the real reason for existence. No Fear. An intermediary between the worlds. Woman of Light and Dark.
